2. Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary

If  I say dolphin in river simply you would say big no. If I say dolphin in river Ganges you would say not possible, and if i say dolphin in Bihar you all would laugh at me.

Yes we are at Vikramshila gangetic dolphin santuary in  bihar, the only river in world where dolphin are found, It’s pride of India  a National Aquatic animal. Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary is located in Bhagalpur District of Bihar. The sanctuary is a 50 km stretch of the Ganges River from Sultanganj to Kahalgaon. Designated in 1991, it is the only protected area for the endangered Gangetic dolphins in Asia. Once found in abundance, only a few hundred remain, of which half are found here.

4. Barabar Caves, Sultanpur

Barabar Caves claim to be the oldest rock-cut caves in India. Dating back to Mauryan Empire, these majestic caves are certainly one of the best places to see in Bihar. Situated on twin hills – Barabar and Nagarjuni, the caves are said to be used by Ajivika sect, however, many traces of Buddhist and Jain art can be found here. Barabar Hills consists of 4 caves, whereas Nagarjuni Hills have 3 caves, each of the cave are well-polished and have articulate designs and inscriptions over its walls and ceilings.

5. Dungeshwari Hills

Dungeshwari Hills, located at a distance of 15 km from Bodh Gaya, is one of the prime attractions of Gaya district. This hill houses a cave which is surrounded with several shrines and ancient stupas. It is believed that this is the same cave, which protected Lord Buddha for six years, before he travelled to Bodh Gaya for attaining enlightenment.
However, his stay in this cave proved futile as he was disillusioned and travelled to several other places in search of true knowledge. Located along River Falgu, these hills have found mention in the travelogues of Fa Hien and Hiuen Tsang.
